Crowns & Bridges
Restoring damaged or missing teeth with natural-looking solutions
Damaged, weakened, or missing teeth can affect the way you eat, speak, and smile with confidence. Dental crowns and bridges are restorative treatments designed to rebuild damaged teeth or replace missing teeth while supporting the health and function of your smile.

At CFS Dental, we’ll assess your oral health, discuss your treatment goals and recommend whether a dental crown, bridge, or another restorative option is most appropriate for your individual circumstances. Wherever possible, our focus is on restoring both the function and appearance of your smile.
When are crowns and bridges recommended?
Dental crowns and bridges may be recommended for a range of situations:
Dental Crown
A dental crown is used to cover and protect a tooth that has been weakened by decay, fracture, large fillings, or root canal treatment. Because the crown covers the entire tooth, it helps restore strength while improving its appearance.
Dental Bridge
A dental bridge replaces one or more missing teeth by supporting an artificial tooth with crowns attached to the neighbouring teeth. In some situations, dental implants may also be used to provide additional support for a bridge.
Dental Crowns
Dental crowns are custom-made restorations designed to fit over an existing tooth.

They may be recommended to:
- Restore a broken or weakened tooth
- Protect a tooth following root canal therapy
- Repair a heavily restored tooth
- Improve the appearance of a worn or discoloured tooth
- Complete a dental implant restoration
Modern porcelain crowns are designed to closely match the appearance of your natural teeth while providing long-term strength and durability. Following a comprehensive examination, we’ll discuss whether a dental crown is the most appropriate treatment for your smile.
Same-day CEREC crowns
For many patients, we can provide dental crowns in a single appointment using CEREC technology.

Instead of taking traditional impressions and waiting for a dental laboratory to manufacture your crown, CEREC uses digital scanning and CAD/CAM technology to design and create many ceramic restorations at our practice.

Once your crown has been carefully designed and milled, it is bonded to your tooth during the same visit, allowing many patients to complete their treatment in just one appointment. Not every case is suitable for same-day treatment, and we’ll discuss whether CEREC is the most appropriate option for your individual circumstances.
Dental Bridges
A dental bridge is designed to replace one or more missing teeth by filling the space left behind.

Replacing missing teeth may help:
- Restore your ability to chew comfortably
- Improve the appearance of your smile
- Maintain the alignment of neighbouring teeth
- Support normal bite function
- Reduce the likelihood of neighbouring teeth shifting into the space left by a missing tooth
Depending on your individual circumstances, a bridge may be supported by neighbouring teeth or, in some cases, by dental implants for additional stability. We’ll explain the available options during your consultation.
Crowns or bridges:
which is right for you?
The most appropriate treatment depends on the condition of your teeth, your oral health, and whether you’re restoring or replacing a tooth.

During your consultation, we’ll assess your smile, explain the advantages of each option, and recommend a personalised treatment plan based on your individual needs.

Our goal is always to preserve healthy tooth structure wherever possible, while restoring the comfort, function, and appearance of your smile.

What's the difference between a crown and a bridge?
A dental crown covers and protects an existing tooth, while a dental bridge replaces one or more missing teeth by anchoring an artificial tooth to neighbouring teeth or, in some cases, dental implants.
